My husband, sister & I decided to come here for dessert on our way home from Napa and boy we're glad we did! I got a cup with 2 scoops of ice cream $8.15, which is a great price considering it was HUGE!. One scoop of Peppermint Bark & one scoop of Maple Nut. Next time I'll have to try and remember to ask for 1/2 scoops instead. The peppermint bark even had some pieces of chocolate as well as chocolate syrup which ended up being a bit messy. My favorite was the Maple Nut! It had such wonderful flavor and with the crunch of the walnuts. My sister got a petite Waffle cone $7.54 and my husband got a reg Waffle cone $9, which they both enjoyed.
My son and I shared a scoop of chocolate ice cream in a waffle cone. The scoop was very generous, and the flavor was very good. It's a big establishment with a restaurant adjacent to the ice-cream parlor. It's situated in a nice outdoor "village" complete with train rides and a carousel.
It was lunch out with the teen grabbing jeans and warm clothes for the change in weather because some teenagers only buy shorts to start the school year with. Anyway we headed to Vacaville and I'm looking for food and stop here. I ordered the Crab Louie salad and she had wings and fries. I thought the salad was excellent I mean it's not cheap it's $24 but it's the perfect size for me and I ate the whole thing it was good so I would definitely buy it again. She wasn't too fond of the Wings but that's typical of this teenager right here she wanted more fries and she got a milkshake but she devoured.
I needed an afternoon treat and headed over to Fenton's Creamery, and I can see why it's such a popular spot! At 3pm it was packed and there was a rush. The place has an old-school charm. The ambiance is live, and the staff was busy since he was the only one serving ice cream but friendly, making it perfect for families or anyone craving ice cream! I tried a waffle cone with the caramel almond flavor ($6.99), and each was rich, creamy, and super sweet! The portions are huge, so make sure you come hungry or bring friends to share. I couldn't finish it. But I also had the chocolate chip cookie too! Aside from ice cream, they also serve food, but I was there for the ice cream! Fenton's Creamery is definitely worth the visit. I can't wait to come back!
Sunday funday. We took a drive to the famous Nut Tree in Vacaville. Fenton's is known for their ice cream but we were hungry so we ordered food as well. The wait was short for a table but the place was busy with families. The ambient is casual and family oriented. Our server was pleasant and attentive. My wife had the club sandwich and onion rings. The rings were awesome ! She said the sandwich was a bit bland. I ordered the shrimp po boy and chips. The shrimp was well cooked but lacked flavor from the tartar sauce (maybe too much mayo?) Dessert was the highlight of the day: we had the apple pie a la mode with hot caramel sauce. Deliciously sweet! We also had the Black and White sundae (Jr size). Needless to say, the ice cream is their expertise. All delicious ! I would definitely return for a different ice cream treat.
Large establishment where you can dine in or just walk in to get a scoop of ice cream. It's also right next to a little kid play area and the Jelly Belly store. The cashier was really nice and let me try the Ube ice cream, which I was surprised they carried. Ice cream was pretty yummy but I've had better Ube.
It's been pretty hot in the Bay Area lately and I was craving some ice cream so here I am. I came in and ordered the California avocado burger and the create your own 3 flavor flights (toasted almond, rocky road, and butter bickle.) The burger was solid and so were the fries. The ice cream here is really good to. Usually when I come here I get the black and tan but I wanted to be different lol. The service here was good too. Our server was kind and timely. In the front of the restaurant, There's a station where you can go and get ice cream to go which is pretty cool. The ice cream here is clearly their main star. All in all a great experience. I definitely recommend checking out this ice cream spot. Try it out if you like. :)
Ahh the classic Fenton's. We were surprised there's one in Vacaville so you know we stopped by after an all you can eat sushi buffet (yes we had room for dessert). This place is massive inside, but we opted for ice cream as takeout. Overall the ice cream was yummy and there were plenty of flavors to choose from. I got one of the dark chocolate flavors (forgot), my husband got the swiss chocolate, somebody got the worker's favorites that he recommended which was pistachio and I believe cherry, and forgot what else we got. The scoops were MASSIVE. I struggled to finish all of it! There was a long line and we waited for ~20min to get our ice cream fix. There was an even longer line behind us, and we felt bad as it was a group of 6 of us. Also there was only one guy working while we were in line. It felt like they needed at least 2 people to serve the customers. The guy who helped us not only got us our 4 ice cream cups/cones, but had to go to the back to make another special order for us, vanilla sundae with chocolate fudge (forgot the name). That took awhile. For a busy Saturday evening, they definitely need at least two people working that ice cream section. Overall the ice cream is very smooth, creamy, and hits the spot.
It's always bigger and better at Fenton's! Ice cream that is. Especially when it's 103F and 107F real feel outside. In high school we used to hang out at Fenton's in Piedmont/Oakland, so this branch brought back memories of fresh Crab Sandwiches and huge sundaes. Service was good once we were seated. Apparently the hostess didn't realize that the list extended to the flip side of the page and we waited longer than others. 92-year old Dad has been craving root beer floats for months. He was more than satisfied with his huge Fenton's float. My sister and I split a Crab Sandwich. Prices sure have increased since the 80s! The crab was tasty but not as good as our memories. Maybe it's the switch from Dungeness to stone crab. My sundae was amazing and I'm glad I got the "small" 1 scoop. In sum, it was an enjoyable step back in time when ice cream parlors were king.
